Working on this project was a wonderful experience for me, and one that I was honored to be a part of. The project began early last year when a friend and client suggested she commission me to create artwork for the newly renovated Cancer Resource Center in Munster IN.
The Center is dedicated to helping those whose lives have been touched by cancer. It's a warm, welcoming place filled with support, educational resources and friendly faces. The story behind the entire process of creating this series is one I hope to feature some day, as it's meaning is something I have yet to entirely wrap my mind around. It was a moving experience and one that I thank God for. I'm grateful for Donna Williamson whose idea, support and push around this project made it possible, and to Anthony Andello and Mary Shields for their support and warm welcome.
A few details: The images were photographed in the Center's amazing gardens. Some of the flowers were donated last summer by friend Kristy Lopez. After shooting in the garden, the images were then partially painted in my digital darkroom.

Life is good on this end as it's been a busy year so far. Last week I spent a day in Indianapolis as a judge on a Photography Panel for the Indiana Arts Commission. I was in very good company and really enjoyed being a part of such an amazing process.
I had to post a few from a recent shoot at The Loft with Shane Talbott. I've been photographing Shane for a few years now- and love every second of our time together. Shane is best known in Chicago as the King of Color (he's a Master colorist) and his fame is on the rise as the genius and talent behind Talbott Tea.
His dog Sophie always shows with attitude and style :)

love your new digs!
(02.06.09 @ 07:57 PM)Be sure to stop by the new Community Hospital Emergency Department and view the gorgeous images that the very talented, very generous and always amazing ALP donated to the new facility. I hope I never have to be there for a true emergency, but if I am, the walls will be saying "life is good, life is beautiful"
Thank you Ann. You are an angel.
Beautiful pics!!! Thanks so much mentioning our business! Your pictures have made a HUGE difference, not just in making the store more attractive, but people are conversing over that picture during lunch! It's so cute! Everytime I am there...which is a lot...people are talking about your gorgeous work! I can't wait to have kids, just to book you to photograph them or us as a family! (I will wait though :) ) Thanks a TON!!!!
