About

Welcome to The Scoop!  This is the place to come to find out what's happening in the life of Ann Latinovich Photography. Come hang out with us- leave a comment or two- bookmark this page. Never anything dull, I call it the scoop because that's just what it is- an all encompassing view of the behind the scenes-  glimpses of shoots and all things good.

Last week we had our first day of mini sessions and it went off without a hitch! We have another day of mini's coming up this Saturday, April 25 and our last on Saturday, May 23. We added a few sessions to each date so if you're interested give us a call! We look forward to talking to you!

Life is good on this end as it's been a busy year so far. Last week I spent a day in Indianapolis as a judge on a Photography Panel for the Indiana Arts Commission. I was in very good company and really enjoyed being a part of such an amazing process.

I had to post a few from a recent shoot at The Loft with Shane Talbott.  I've been photographing Shane for a few years now- and love every second of our time together. Shane is best known in Chicago as the King of Color (he's a Master colorist)  and his fame is on the rise as the genius and talent behind Talbott Tea.

His dog Sophie always shows with attitude and style :)

March 10, 2009 // Family / The Loft
Moms and Dads bring their kids to me to capture those sweet moments and what usually matters most to them is that I capture THEIR KIDS. They typically don't worry so much about being in front of the camera themselves. I encourage parents to get in front of the camera because

1.  it's important for their children to have keepsake images of the family- the whole of them. I truly enjoy capturing the moments between parent and child.

2. I love to photograph Moms, because I find that rarely do they see how beautiful they really are. I feel like they need to know, and that I should show them!

So this is for N., a Mom whose family I photographed last year. She brought the whole crew to The Loft this week and we had a blast. We'll be adding their images to a new section of Loft images on the website this week. I wanted to post this one for now, because N., your spirit is sooooo bright, and I just love having you in front of the camera!

Best,
Ann

March 1, 2009 // The Loft
I've been photographing Ms. A every year since she was a baby and she'll be 5 next month! The cool thing about photographing a child repeatedly over the years, is that I'm able to capture the unique look and spirit of each stage! I was in awe while proofing these, because I just kept thinking.. she looks so old! Wasn't I just photographing her crawling!?!?!?!?

During the shoot, I asked her. "A., you're doing such a great job!, who taught you how to do this!?" and she replied so matter-of-factly "You did!"  HA HA! We had a blast. Thanks to my dear friend K. for being just that, and cheers to A. for a shoot well done!

Video make take a minute or two to load...
